Armstead rushed four times for seven yards in the Redblacks' 19-13 preseason win over the Alouettes and appears to have made the season-opening roster after Ottawa released backfield mate Ronnie Brown, per 3DownNation.

ANALYSIS
The 2019 fifth-round pick of the Jaguars brings a host of professional experience north of the border, having logged 18 appearances with Jacksonville over three seasons and another eight for the XFL's D.C. Defenders in 2023. National running back Amlicar Polk figures to take some carries away from Armstead, but with Brown's release and fellow running back Kylin Hill heading to the practice roster, Armstead may have a hold of the lead-back role going into the regular-season opener.
