Could secure bullpen spot with solid spring
PTampa Bay Rays
February 21, 2017
Gadea, selected by the Rays with the fourth pick of the Rule 5 draft on Dec. 8, has a legitimate opportunity to secure a bullpen spot this spring despite never having pitched above Low-A, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay Times reports. "We really like him as a prospect," said Rays senior VP of baseball operations Chaim Bloom. "We think he's a good starting pitching prospect, and the fact he has good stuff, has a good changeup and is a strike thrower, we felt he has a chance to stick here and help our team win."
