FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Monday's two-game offering features the Sixers as they attempt to sweep the Wizards, and the  Jazz, who look to take control of their first-round series against the Grizzlies. We will look at both games individually and identify the best approach for today's Classic contests.

76ers @ Wizards (76ers -8.5, O/U: 230)

TOP PERFORMERS (GAME 3)

PHI Joel Embiid - 58.6 FDFP

PHI Tobias Harris - 41.1 FDFP

PHI Ben Simmons - 34,5 FDFP

WAS Russell Westbrook - 52.4 FDFP

WAS Bradley Beal - 41.7 FDFP

WAS Daniel Gafford - 29.2 FDFP

Although Russell Westbrook ($11,000) is dealing with an ankle injury, he is expected to play in this elimination game. After an outstanding Game 3, Bradley Beal ($9,600) remains the more profitable DFS play in relation to his salary. At a $1,400 discount from Westbrook, he allows for a better stars-and-scrubs load. Westbrook is obviously not a global fade, but MME exposure to him should fall lower than Beal's.

There are zero surprises in the Game 3 results for Philly. Monday is the Wizards' last chance, but the numbers indicate that the Sixers are in complete control, and only a supremely inspired effort from Washington can alter the eventual outcome. The only question is the desired direction with this valuable trio. Tobias Harris ($7.900) offers the best value for the price; Joel Embiid ($10,200) comes in at just above 5x value and is the most expensive center option. Moving to Embiid depends largely on which backcourt selections you make, and if you need room at this position, another center may be more prudent.

ENDORSEMENTS (PHI/WAS)

  1. PF Tobias Harris ($7,900)
  2. SG Bradley Beal ($9,600)
  3. PF Daniel Gafford ($5,400)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jazz @ Grizzlies (Jazz -5.5, O/U: 225)

TOP PERFORMERS (GAME 3)

UTA - Mike Conley - 44.2 FDFP

UTA - Rudy Gobert - 41.8 FDFP

UTA - Donovan Mitchell - 39.9 FDFP

MEM - Kyle Anderson - 40.1 FDFP

MEM - Ja Morant - 38.1 FDFP

MEM - Dillon Brooks - 37.6 FDFP

Our second center option is Rudy Gobert ($8,500), who came in under 5x value in Game 3. Jonas Valanciunas ($8,000) is noticeably absent from the top performer list, and there isn't much reason to look beyond Embiid, Gobert or JoVal at the valuable center position. Kyle Anderson ($6,900) is the surprise addition to the list, as he popped a rare double-double in the loss. Although he has some upside potential at this salary and can steal beat 5x value with 36 FDFP, I'm more inclined to look at Dillon Brooks ($7,100) for $200 more in this price range.

The return of Donovan Mitchell ($8,000) has cut into the expected production for the Jazz's usual value players, and it's evident that FanDuel has priced him with an expectation that he'll better his Game 3 total. Mike Conley ($8,100) is only $100 more and has shown remarkable consistency when he's healthy enough to be in the lineup, and he may be the better backcourt option for the money. While viable, Ja Morant ($8,200) comes in as the most expensive point guard on the slate and would need over 40 FDFP to be worthwhile. Exposure to Morant and Conley should be about the same, and if you match them with a less expensive center, they are the best PG combination to run with on the slate.

ENDORSEMENTS (UTA/MEM)

  1. C Rudy Gobert ($8,500)
  2. PG Mike Conley ($8,100)
  3. SG Dillon Brooks ($7,100)

VALUE PLAYS AND OTHER OPTIONS

I identified players like Valanciunas, Anderson, Morant and Simmons, but they did not make the endorsement list in their selected games. They shouldn't be wholly faded by any means, but I made an effort to provide the best available options in each contest instead of listing every potentially productive player. There are also several budget players to be had Monday. Below is a list of my favorite plays below the FanDuel median price.

PF Royce O'Neale, UTA ($4,400)

SG Seth Curry, PHI ($3,700)

PF Jaren Jackson, MEM ($5,700)

SF Danny Green, PHI ($4,700)
