Cavaliers Defeat Nuggets, 99-87
The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the host Denver Nuggets, 99-87, at Ball Arena on Monday.

The Cavaliers led 29-24 after the first quarter and held the lead for all but one minute in this game. A 24-17 fourth quarter spaced the gap, with the Cavs holding a double-digit lead for the final nine minutes. The Cavaliers shot 46 percent from the field and 28 percent from three-point range while holding the Nuggets to 41 percent from the field and 24 percent from long range. In addition, Cleveland recorded 26 assists to 14 turnovers while Denver matched their 21 assists with 21 turnovers.

The Cavaliers (2-2) were led by Kevin Love, providing 22 points and six rebounds off the bench. Jarrett Allen led the starters with 21 points, 16 rebounds and two assists on 10-of-11 from the field. Collin Sexton amassed 14 points, three rebounds and two assists, while Lauri Markkanen mustered 12 points, four rebounds, two assists and four steals.

The Nuggets (2-1) were led by Nikola Jokic, collecting 24 points, 19 rebounds, three assists and three steals on 9-of-15 shooting. Will Barton totaled 12 points, two rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Aaron Gordon generated 12 points and nine rebounds. Michael Porter Jr put up 11 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Denver has to play the second half of a back-to-back set on Tuesday, traveling to play the Utah Jazz. Cleveland is off until Wednesday, staying on the road to play the Los Angeles Clippers.
