Pelicans Defeat T'Wolves, 107-98
The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the host Minnesota Timberwolves, 107-98, at Target Center on Monday.

While there were seven lead changes in the first quarter, Minnesota held the lead for the final three quarters after that. That can be attributed to a 54-43 first half in favor of the Pelicans. New Orleans shot 45 percent from the field and 33 percent from three-point range while holding Minnesota to 34 percent from the field and 30 percent from long range. In addition, the Pelicans out-rebounded the T'Wolves, 60-41.

The Pelicans (1-3) were led by Brandon Ingram, totaling 27 points and nine rebounds. Jonas Valanciunas amassed 22 points, 22 rebounds, three assists and two blocks. DeVonte' Graham generated 21 points, three rebounds and seven assists. Nickeil Alexander-Walker finished with 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

The Timberwolves (2-1) were led by Karl-Anthony Towns and his 32 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two blocks. Anthony Edwards was the only other starter in double figures, compiling 28 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Patrick Beverley led the bench with 13 points, two rebounds and two assists.

Both teams return to action on Wednesday, with New Orleans returning home to face the Atlanta Hawks and Minnesota traveling to face the Milwaukee Bucks.
