Bucks Dominate, Secure Win Over Pacers
The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Indiana Pacers, 119-109, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Monday evening.
The Bucks (3-1) delivered a strong performance to take care of the Pacers (1-3) rather comfortably, as Milwaukee raced out to a 34-30 lead following the first quarter and never looked back. Milwaukee also won the subsequent two quarters, 32-27 and 35-29, so they held a commanding lead heading into the final 12 minutes of action. The Pacers didn't give up and made it a close game in the fourth, but they couldn't complete the comeback despite winning the final quarter by a 23-18 score. The Bucks shot 48.2 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from three-point range, while the Pacers shot 44.4 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from three-point range.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had another excellent performance and ended just one assist shy of putting up a triple-double, as he ended with 30 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, while Khris Middleton supplied 27 points, seven assists and five boards. Grayson Allen had another strong game and finished with 19 points, while Pat Connaughton mustered 13 points coming off the bench. No other Milwaukee player scored in double digits, though Thanasis Antetokounmpo had eight points as a starter.
Malcolm Brogdon was the best player for the Pacers in this game, as he finished with 25 points and seven assists while shooting 10-for-21 from the field. The Boston Celtics defeated the Charlotte Hornets, 140-129, in overtime at Spectrum Center on Monday night.

Boston was also playing its third game in four nights but didn't look like a tired team in the first half, building a 68-66 advantage by intermission. Although Charlotte had gained a three-point edge going into the final period, the visitors managed to knot the game up at 122 on a pair of Jayson Tatum free throws with 1:11 remaining in regulation and then went on a 12-0 run in overtime to secure the hard-fought victory.
Tatum paced the Celtics with 41 points, adding eight assists, seven rebounds and one block. Jaylen Brown returned from a one-game absence to supply 30 points, nine boards, three assists, three steals and one block. Dennis Schroder collected 23 points, eight assists, six rebounds and one block. Jabari Parker turned in 13 points, five rebounds and one block. Robert Williams generated a 12-point, 16-rebound double-double that also included four assists and three blocks.

Hawks Cruise Past Pistons On The Road
The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Detroit Pistons, 122-104, at State Farm Arena on Monday evening.
The Hawks (2-1) got over the .500 mark and bounced back following their recent loss while defeating a young Pistons (0-3) team that remains winless. Led by an impressive effort from Trae Young, Atlanta established the tone of the game quickly and built a 28-18 lead following the first quarter -- and they never looked back afterward. Even though Detroit won the second quarter (36-34), they didn't stand a chance the rest of the way and Atlanta pulled away for good in the third after a 33-25 score. Atlanta also won the final quarter by two points (27-25) en route to an impressive 18-point victory. Atlanta shot 51.1 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from deep, while the Pistons shot 44 percent from the field and 27.3 percent from three-point range.
Trae Young was the best player for the Hawks in this one, as he ended with 32 points and nine assists while shooting 13-for-21 from the field, and John Collins also delivered a strong effort with 22 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block. The Nets jumped out to a hot start with a, 38-20, lead after one quarter. The Wizards tightened it up in the second and managed to outscore the hosts by one-point in the quarter, making it a 17-point game at halftime. The third quarter remained competitive, but the Wizards could not make any progress, as the Nets pushed it back to an 18-point deficit, heading into the final frame. The Wizards kept up their fight in the fourth, but it was not enough, as the Nets held on for the home win, while this marks the first loss of the season for the Wizards.
Kevin Durant led the way for the Nets with 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals, in 35 minutes. Bulls Remain Undefeated To Start The Season

The Chicago Bulls defeated the host Toronto Raptors, 111-108, at Scotiabank Arena on Monday evening.
The contest got out to a competitive start, tied at 24, after one quarter. The Bulls picked up the pace in the second and outscored the hosts, 37-27, in the frame to take a 10-point lead at the break. They carried the momentum through the third and pushed the lead to 12, heading into the final frame. However, the Raptors rallied in the fourth and cut it down to a two-point game with 14 seconds left. The Bulls narrowly escaped after Nikola Vucevic went 1-of-2 at the foul line, allowing the Raptors a chance to tie, but their last shot bounced off the rim, leaving the Bulls undefeated on the season.
DeMar DeRozan led the Bulls with 26 points on 7-of-19 shooting, and 10-of-10 shooting from the foul line, in 36 minutes of action. The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the host Minnesota Timberwolves, 107-98, at Target Center on Monday.

In addition, the Pelicans out-rebounded the T'Wolves, 60-41.
The Pelicans (1-3) were led by Brandon Ingram, totaling 27 points and nine rebounds. Jonas Valanciunas amassed 22 points, 22 rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Reggie Jackson led the starters with 18 points, five rebounds and four assists. Paul George played just three quarters but still tallied 16 points, five assists and eight steals. Terance Mann generated 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals off the bench as well.
Los Angeles will remain home to face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday for their next game. As for Portland, they return home to play the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday as well.
