Tyson will forgo his remaining eligibility to enter the 2024 NBA Draft, according to Jonathan Givony of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Tyson logged three seasons as a collegiate athlete. After beginning his career with Texas, he transferred to the state's best tech school before his sophomore year. The 6-foot-7 guard broke out by averaging 10.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals. However, it was California's basketball program for whom he played best. Tyson averaged 19.6 points and 3.5 assists, both team bests for the 2023-24 Bears. Among their 10 most active players, he recorded the best field goal percentage, with 46.5 across his 31 games (30 started). Defensively, Tyson averaged 5.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals. Tyson's physical profile, college output and promising versatility could convince an NBA team to take him in the 2024 draft's first round, hence his decision.
