Receives praise from coach
When asked about Jones on Tuesday, coach Peter Laviolette said, "We're going to put him back in there. He, along with everybody else, gets another opportunity to go play a good game. His attitude has been unbelievable," Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Laviolette specifically praised Jones' ability to remain positive despite being out of the lineup for extended periods as a healthy scratch -- Jones had watched eight straight games from the press box before logging 13:44 of ice time in a 5-4 loss to Minnesota on Saturday. The 23-year-old has gone scoreless while posting a minus-3 rating through two contests overall this season.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Jones should have spent most of his first full professional season in New York, but he ultimately played just 12 games with the Rangers and 52 games with their AHL affiliate in Hartford in 2021-22. He was brilliant (9 goals, 35 points) as a 21-year-old for the Wolf Pack. Jones is a legitimate power-play quarterback with terrific offensive ability. He struggles in his own zone at times and will never be the type to log significant defensive minutes, but he's clearly ready for a full-time gig at the NHL level, likely starting this coming campaign alongside Braden Schneider on the team's third defensive pair.
