The Skinny

The contest between Washington and New York could be the most competitive on Saturday's three-game slate, and each team has an expected total over 80 points. Although the Mystics rank fifth in offensive efficiency this year, their 45.0 2Pt% ranks 11th in the league. However, they could have a slightly favorable matchup against the Liberty, who have a below-average defense against two-point attempts. Natasha Cloud had a prominent role for the Mystics to begin the season, but she's missed the last four games due to an ankle injury. However, she returned to practice Friday and is optimistic that she could return to game action Saturday. She's averaging 6.9 points, 5.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 30.1 minutes per game this season and could provide DFS value if she's able to handle a full workload Saturday. Her potential return could lead to fewer minutes for Leilani Mitchell, who had started each of the last four games and averaged 17.0 points and 4.8 assists in 35.8 minutes per contest during that time. Myisha Hines-Allen has also been sidelined due to a knee injury, but she was unable to practice Friday. Theresa Plaisance will likely play an increased role once again Saturday if Hines-Allen is held out. Plaisance has taken on a starting role in the frontcourt in each of the last six games, and she's scored in double figures during five of those appearances. She's averaged 13.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 32.3 minutes per game during that time and could offer DFS value once again Saturday if Hines-Allen is unavailable.

The Liberty have the second-best pace in the league this year, and they could drive up the score if they can control the tempo against Washington, who rank 10th in pace. Rebecca Allen has missed each of the last two contests due to plantar fasciitis, and she was unable to return Tuesday despite carrying a probable designation. Her absence has led to increased playing time for Kylee Shook, who has averaged 7.8 points and 8.0 rebounds in 28.6 minutes per game across her last five appearances. Shook had a starting role prior to Allen's absence, but she could share more duties in the frontcourt Saturday if Allen returns. Sami Whitcomb has been more consistent recently, and she's averaged 16.4 points and 6.2 rebounds in 29.8 minutes per game across her last five appearances, highlighted by a season-high 30 points against Atlanta last Saturday. Betnijah Laney has been a leader for New York throughout the season, and she's scored at least 20 points in three of her last eight appearances. During that time, she's averaged 18.5 points, 5.8 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 32.1 minutes per game.

The Skinny

The matchup between the Sun and the Fever could have the least competitive on Saturday's slate since Connecticut has the slowest pace of any team in the league while Indiana ranks seventh. The Sun's offense has the best offensive efficiency of any team on Saturday's slate, and the team has the highest expected total, while the Fever have the lowest expected total. Connecticut has the third-best three-point rate in the WNBA and could find success from long range Saturday since the Fever's defense ranks 10th in the league from beyond the arc. Jonquel Jones has had plenty of volume from three-point range in her two games since returning to the Sun, and she could have ample looks once again Saturday. DeWanna Bonner has averaged 4.8 three-point attempts per game across her last six games, but she's converted on just 24.1 percent of those shots. She bounced back in Thursday's matchup against Indiana and will attempt to do so once again Saturday. Jasmine Thomas closed out the month of June with five consecutive games with double-digit scoring totals, but she was held to just seven points Thursday while shooting 22.2 percent from the floor.

The Fever struggle in most offensive categories, as they rank last in the league in offensive efficiency, effective FG% (44.5) and 3Pt% (26.5). They put up 80 points as a team in Thursday's matchup against Connecticut, they've been quite inconsistent on the offensive side of the ball this year. Kelsey Mitchell has been a bright spot with back-to-back performances with over 20 points, and she's also scored in double figures in each of her last eight appearances. Tiffany Mitchell has also been consistently effective, and she's averaged 14.6 points in 28.0 minutes per game across the last seven contests. Danielle Robinson had a somewhat shaky start to the season, but she's averaged 12.3 points in 30.3 minutes per game across her last three appearances and could be a mid-tier fantasy value on Saturday's slate.

The Skinny

The matchup between Minnesota and Phoenix is only running on FanDuel, and it features two teams with below-average marks in several offensive categories. However, the contest has the highest expected total of any game Saturday. Each team thrives on offense and defense from two-point range. While the Lynx have the best 2Pt% in the league (49.6), Phoenix allows the lowest 2Pt% (44.7). Kayla McBride found success in Wednesday's win over the Mercury, as she shot 69.2 percent from the floor and posted a season-high 26 points. The 29-year-old still has a mid-tier DFS salary and could offer some value once again if she can play efficiently Saturday. Layshia Clarendon has also been efficient recently by shooting 69.6 percent from the floor across the last two games, and they averaged 16.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 30.0 minutes per contest during that time. They re-signed with Minnesota for the remainder of the season Friday, and they could remain in the starting five going forward. Damiris Dantas has rejoined the starting five in each of the last three games, and she's played at least 30 minutes in each appearance. She dropped a season-high 23 points June 23 and has averaged 12.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 31.7 minutes per game across her last three starts. Sylvia Fowles has recorded double-doubles in four of her last five appearances, but she posted just 15 points in Wednesday's win over Phoenix after averaging 28.0 points per game across her previous two games. Napheesa Collier has also been dominant with double-doubles in each of the last two contests, and she's averaged 19.5 points and 7.3 rebounds in 35.7 minutes per game across her last six appearances.

The Mercury aren't far behind the Lynx with the second-best 2Pt% (49.6), while Minnesota ranks fifth defensively in the category (45.9). Brittney Griner was on a tear once again Wednesday with 28 points in 34 minutes, and she's averaged 24.6 points and 9.4 rebounds in 34.0 minutes per game across her last five appearances. Skylar Diggins-Smith has been quite consistent on the scoreboard recently by scoring at least 15 points in each of the last five games, but she's totaled just three rebounds across the last two games after she averaged 4.2 rebounds per contests in the first 13 matchups of the year. Diana Taurasi scored a season-high 25 points in her return from a chest injury Sunday, but she shot just 14.3 percent from the floor in Wednesday's loss to the Lynx, so she's a somewhat risky play against Minnesota's defense Saturday.
