2024 Fantasy Outlook
Okonkwo got plenty of sleeper hype heading into 2023 after a strong finish to his 2022 rookie campaign that saw him top 40 yards in six of the last 10 games. His sophomore season ended up being quite similar to Okonkwo’s rookie year, as he didn’t reach 40 yards in a game until Week 11 but proceeded to post at least 34 yards in each of the final seven games in addition to scoring his lone touchdown of 2023 in Week 15. At 6-foot-3 and 238 pounds, Okonkwo’s undersized for a tight end, but his 4.52-second 40-time is excellent for the position, so he creates mismatches with good quickness for his size, similar to Evan Engram. Just like Engram, Okonkwo has struggled with drops early in his career, as he had six on 77 targets in 2023. Okonkwo showed promising chemistry with quarterback Will Levis down the stretch last season, and he should get plenty of single coverage with wide receivers Calvin Ridley and DeAndre Hopkins drawing most of the defense’s attention. Ridley will demand targets, but Tennessee seems to be heading in a more pass-heavy direction as a team after letting Derrick Henry walk and changing coaching staffs, so the stage could be set for Okonkwo to have the breakout we thought was coming last season. Modest showing in Week 18
Okonkwo recorded two receptions (on three targets) for 36 yards in Sunday's 28-20 win over the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
The Titans had a positive game script for much of the contest, which limited passing volume. As a result, Okonkwo had a quiet close to the season. Despite a very inconsistent passing attack in Tennessee, he did manage to take a moderate step forward in his sophomore campaign by tallying 54 receptions for 528 yards and a touchdown. Okonkwo should have a significant role in the offense again in 2024, though his potential volume will ultimately be determined by whether DeAndre Hopkins is back with the team and any subsequent additions the Titans make to their pass-catching corps.

Starting to carve out role
Okonkwo, a rookie fourth-round pick, appears to be progressively carving out a larger role in the Titans' passing attack.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo is an athletic pass-catching threat that has drawn comparisons to the likes of Vernon Davis and former Titan Delanie Walker for his ability to get downfield consistently. The Maryland product has already recorded five receptions of at least 20 yards, including three over 40, on just 15 total catches. Okonkwo is coming off having corralled a career-high four receptions for 68 yards while running a season-high 20 routes in the Week 13 loss to the Eagles.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Okonkwo is coming off a strong finish to his rookie season, and the 2022 fourth-round pick out of Maryland should get plenty of opportunities this year on a Titans team that lacks weapons in the passing game. After recording only eight catches over his first 10 games, Okonkwo became much more involved in the second half of his rookie campaign, catching at least three passes in six of the last seven games for a total of 24 catches for 278 yards and two touchdowns on 31 targets over that span. Chig played more than half of Tennessee's offensive snaps only twice as a rookie while working behind Austin Hooper, but with Hooper having left for Vegas in free agency, Okonkwo's poised for a significant bump in playing time in his sophomore season, especially if he can improve his blocking. Tennessee's offense is built around the running game, but wide receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Treylon Burks are the only players likely to command more targets than the 6-foot-2, 244-pound Okonkwo when the Titans turn to the air.
