2024 Fantasy Outlook
McBride had just 265 receiving yards as a rookie but emerged as one of the league’s most productive tight ends in the second half of 2023. Veteran tight end Zach Ertz hurt his quadriceps Week 7 and didn’t play for Arizona again, opening the door for the 2022 second-round pick to catch 66 of 85 for 655 yards and three touchdowns over the final 10 games. Prorated to 17 games, those numbers work out to 112 catches for 1,114 receiving yards and five TDs on 145 targets, which would've made McBride the TE leader for targets and yardage last year. He should have a bit more competition for Kyler Murray's attention with No. 4 overall pick Marvin Harrison replacing Marquise Brown as the No. 1 receiver and Zay Jones adding depth, but it mostly looks the Cardinals are counting on McBride and the rookie to carry their passing game. Few TEs across the NFL, if any, have a higher volume ceiling than McBride, who caught five or more passes in seven of the eight games Murray started last year. Read Past Outlooks
Catches third TD Sunday
McBride had three receptions on six targets for 34 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 21-20 loss to Seattle.
ANALYSIS
McBride finished his breakout fantasy campaign on a high note by catching the only touchdown Kyler Murray threw against the Seahawks on Sunday. The second-year tight end saw huge jumps in usage after Week 1 starter Zach Ertz (quadriceps) landed on season-ending IR in Week 7. McBride took advantage of the opportunity and rattled off 69 receptions, 655 yards and all three of his touchdowns over the ensuing 10 games as the No. 1 option. That is a healthy enough snapshot to get an idea of the impact McBride could have in the shallow fantasy tight end pool in 2024.

Projected for big '24
Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com projects McBride to be the Cardinals' second-leading pass catcher behind rookie first-round pick Marvin Harrison Jr. in 2024.
ANALYSIS
McBride finished his college career at Colorado State with a 90-catch season, so his 81-825-3 line in 2023 during what was his first extended opportunity as a pro wasn't an outlier. The third-year pro is the unquestioned starter at tight end going into the season with veteran Zach Ertz now in Washington, and even with Michael Wilson and Zay Jones among some other capable receivers behind Harrison, McBride could indeed be the second-most prolific target for Kyler Murray.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
McBride became the first tight end taken in the 2022 NFL Draft when Arizona selected him out of Colorado State with the 55th overall pick. After racking up 1,121 receiving yards in his final college season, the 6-foot-4 tight end began his NFL career in a depth role but ascended to the top of the depth chart after Zach Ertz tore his ACL in Week 10. In the seven-game stretch from Week 11 onward, McBride caught 25 of 35 passes for 234 yards and his first NFL touchdown. Ertz’s rehab may stretch into the 2023 season, so McBride could pick up where he left off as the starter for an Arizona team that’s expected to be playing from behind much of the time but might struggle to move the ball if QB Kyler Murray is absent or limited as he works his way back from his own ACL tear.
