Thunder Defeat Lakers, 107-104
The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the host Los Angeles Lakers, 107-104, at Staples Center on Thursday.

While Los Angeles led for the first three quarters, Oklahoma City rode a 35-24 fourth quarter to their comeback victory. In fact, Los Angeles blew a 19-point lead, leading 84-75 with eight minutes remaining. The Thunder ended up outscoring the Lakers in the paint, 42-36, and in fastbreak points, 23-19. They also had six players reach double figures in scoring, while Los Angeles had just three.

The Thunder (2-6) were led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his 28 points, three rebounds and six assists. Luguentz Dort amassed 17 points, three rebounds and three assists. Derrick Favors totaled 10 points and 11 boards while Josh Giddey tallied five points, eight rebounds, eight assists and three steals. Ty Jerome led the bench with 14 points, three rebounds and three assists.

The Lakers (5-4) were led by Anthony Davis, accumulating 29 points, 18 rebounds, five assists and two blocks. Russell Westbrook collected 27 points, six rebounds and five assists. The other three starters combined for just 12 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Carmelo Anthony led the bench with 21 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.

On deck for Los Angeles is a road matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday. As for Oklahoma City, they return to action on Sunday in a home matchup with the San Antonio Spurs.
