Heat Overcomes Mavericks, 125-110
The Miami Heat defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 125-110, at American Airlines Center on Tuesday night.

The Heat (6-1) checked into the interconference road showdown looking to prove its mettle against a quality team that had swept last season's two-game series, but it was the Mavericks (4-3) that jumped out to an early six-point edge through one quarter. However, Miami would go on to change the dynamic of the contest for good with a prolific second period, one where they accumulated 46 points while limiting their hosts to 32. Armed with an eight-point advantage going into the second half, the visitors didn't rest on their laurels and pulled away with a relatively comfortable victory by game's end.

Tyler Herro paced the Heat with 25 points, adding four assists and three rebounds. Jimmy Butler followed with 23 points, complementing them with six rebounds, six assists, three steals and one block. Bam Adebayo furnished a 22-point, 13-rebound double-double that also included one assist and two blocks. Kyle Lowry delivered 22 points, nine assists and five rebounds.

Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 33 points, which he supplemented with five assists and three rebounds. Jalen Brunson totaled 25 points, seven boards and three assists. Tim Hardaway registered 17 points, three rebounds, three assists and one block. Reggie Bullock poured in 10 points.

The Heat return home to host the Boston Celtics on Thursday night, while the Mavericks make a short trip and visit the San Antonio Spurs for an intrastate battle on Wednesday night.
